Seals stars at India Telecom 2012

India Telecom 2012, which closed on 15 December, is South Asia's largest communications industry event. More than 300 companies from 37 countries and regions including United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, Belgium exhibited at the event, while over 350 local and international media reported on the latest industry trends and product launches.

 

The Seals VR7 and Seals TS3 ultra-rugged mobile phones attracted a lot of positive comment from telecom industry professionals from India and around the world. Both the Indian Minister for Communications and the Minister for Defence showed interest in the two Seals devices recognising the quality of these products and their potential for the Indian market.

 

Seals devices are water-proof, dust-proof and shock-proof – making them the ideal mobile handsets for industries and professions such as oil and gas, exploration, mining, electricity, engineering, marine, forestry, animal husbandry and other sectors working in harsh environments.

All Seals products are certified with international IP67 and above, as well as the U.S. military standard MIL-STD-810G, which requires resistance to the most extreme weather conditions, 2-metre drop resistance and water-resistance to a depth of 2 metres.

 

Other Seals features that are attractive to professionals include the ability to work at a temperature range from -20 °C to + 60 °C; active GPS navigation system; and one-key positioning. All of these functions are crucial to the emergency services and rescue environment.

Since Seals launched the first VR series of Seals VR7, a virtually indestructible rugged GSM phone, it designed to enhance mobile workforce productivity and safety for professionals with the toughest jobs in harsh environments. Now Seals launches a new TS series of Seals TS3, a tough and stylish Smartphone with great call quality and plenty of useful features for the outdoors-minded.

Seals TS3 is a rugged Android Smartphone features a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, GSM / WCDMA connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS and dual cameras. On the ruggedness side, Seals TS3 can handle 2-meter drops, has a very wide operating temperature range of -20° to +60° degrees and carries IP68 rating. That's what the Seals VR7 phone from Seals Technologies aims to do. Aside from being a rugged phone, the device is capable of sending information that includes the latitude and longitude information along with messages to five different mobile phone numbers while setting off an SOS signal in the time of need. The phone is an IP-67 rated GSM device, meaning that it's capable of being resistant to dirt, shocks, dust and drops. It's also capable of withstanding extreme pressure of up to 400kgs and is waterproof up to one meter for 30 minutes. The VR7 is also capable of functioning in environments ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 55 degrees Celsius.
